Abstract
In the following study 16 non-aggressive and 25 aggressive dyslexic males were compared on measures of self esteem, locus of control, and manifest aggression. The data was also analyzed to include parental variables, such as age and occupation. No significant differences were noted when an analysis of group mean scores was performed. However, when aggression was treated as a 6 point scale and correlated via one rank difference method, there were 2 significant correlations found. Aggression was positively correlated with father's occupation r = .269 and negatively correlated with an external locus of control r = .315. The implications of these findings as regards the ego defensive function of aggressive behavior in dyslexic males was discussed.
