The present work is a critical edition of a thirteen century legal treatise, the Dotrinal de los juyzios of Jacobo de las Leyes. The author who probably participated in the preparation of the legal codex known as the Partidas was one of the closest collaborators of the King Alphonse X "the Wise.".;The edition is based upon the two manuscripts which are known to have existed until now: the HC: 411/53 at the Library of the Hispanic Society of America and the other one at the Real Academia in Madrid. This edition also includes a brief biography of Jacobo de las Leyes, a study of the variants of both manuscripts and an analysis of the similarities between the Dotrinal and the Partida Tercera.
