Abstract: A preliminary taxonomic treatment of the species of Lepiota s.s. and related species that occur in Colombia is presented. The differences among genera are revised based on macro- and micro-morphology and chemical reactions. Descriptions of 29 species distributed among seven genera are provided. Line drawings of microscopic features for all species, photographs of basidiomata for 18 species, and SEM photomicrographs for three species supplement the descriptions.;Provisionally, thirteen new species are described and one new combination proposed. General information on distribution of the species, relationship with ants, phenoloxidases production and phylogeny is provided.
