Abstract: A critical edition, with historical background and analysis, of the unpublished one-movement version of Erno Dohnanyi's Piano Concerto in E minor, Op. 5, compiled from three autograph manuscripts in the National Szechenyi Library, Budapest, and additional primary sources. The one-movement concerto was composed between 1897 and 1899 and won the Bosendorfer Grand Prize on March 26, 1899 in Vienna. Excerpts from the composer's letters and newspaper reviews from that time are also featured.
